Head of Legal

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Legal, who will report to the Chief Strategy Officer and be an integral part of our Strategy, Legal, Data, and Corporate Development Team, focusing mainly on corporate law, investment law, GDPR, contracts, compliance, and competition.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Oversee the legal team and external legal counsel/advisor teams to coordinate their workload and outputs

• Manage all tasks related to corporate law and trade law as well as corporate governance matters and regulatory filings

• Set and deliver legal strategy, based on business objectives and legal risk assessments

• Advise the management team on legal matters

• Regularly monitor and interpret the legislative environment

• Guide the company in resolving legal and regulatory disputes

• Prepare and review all types of contracts

• Guide and negotiate relationships with the board, shareholders, and business partners, ensuring all interactions comply with the legal framework

• Manage legal parts of M&As and exit/investment rounds

• Develop and implement legal strategies to ensure full compliance with both Turkish and international competition laws in all areas where Obilet operates or plans to operate

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable law school with a strong academic record (an LLM degree will be an asset)

• Min. 12 years of relevant professional work experience built both at a reputable top-tier legal consultancy firm and a public / private company

• Working knowledge of GDPR and IP laws

• Working knowledge on M&A projects, legal due diligence and investment rounds

• Working knowledge of competition law and practices

• The desire and capability to not only manage but also personally execute tasks, consistently delivering outputs at a 'client-ready' level
