Obilet.com, founded in 2012, is an end-to-end travel ticketing application listing hundreds of bus carriers, airlines and ferry companies. Obilet also provides bus operators with a best-in-class Inventory Management System (IMS) in the form of SaaS.


Obilet is the indisputable market leader in Turkey across both B2B and B2C segments with 400 bus carriers using its IMS software, 25 million monthly visitors, and 15 million app downloads.


Obilet is projected to further strengthen its position among the largest travel ticketing applications globally by mediating more than 40 million ticket sales in 2024. Obilet has expanded its category offerings to include hotel bookings and car rental services, and initiated its international expansion with the aim of achieving one of the largest global market coverage in the industry.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Owner of all operations and projects for all of the foreign country businesses
  • Actively participate in building and revising our global expansion strategy by collecting, preparing, and analyzing information on the internal and external environment
  • Execute our international expansion strategy working towards stretch deadlines and targets to provide scalable global coverage of which the Eastern European region has the top priority

  • Own the KPIs around our international expansion roadmap and report on the progress to senior management

  • Be responsible for tracking core business metrics and will monitor progress regarding product and technology-related issues for our operations abroad

  • Identify the critical business questions to solve for expansion and work with colleagues and consultants (e.g., commercial, legal, product, tech) to find the best solutions

  • Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders across the organization including our Product, Technology, Strategy, Business Development, HR, Operations, and Finance departments to ensure full alignment for the product rollouts and quick implementation of the initiatives

  • Work with our Marketing team on PR and performance marketing to increase brand awareness in international markets

  • Together with the international sales team, drive partner acquisition, ensure smooth onboarding, and partner enablement

Job requirements

To be successful in this role, you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or another related field

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, expansion, operations, consulting or another related field

  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of Eastern European languages is an asset

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment such as consulting, start-up or VC

  • International work experience is an asset

  • Solid experience in project management of technology projects

  • A self-motivated individual with a willingness to take initiative and get involved in all aspects of the work

  • Ability to work in a team environment with a mindset of full ownership and accountability

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple cultures, including remotely

  • Ability to engage with other parties and forge productive working relationships

  • Capability to use data to make strategic decisions

  • A desire to work in a dynamic environment at one of the fastest growing start-ups in Turkey

  • Ability and willingness to travel abroad frequently
